The Volta Trade and Investment Fair has announced ‘Edem,’ a popular Ghanaian musician, as its Volta Brand Ambassador for this year. The Fair will showcase the region’s rich culture and commerce, as well as its hospitality to visitors.
In an interview, Mr Dela Gadzanku, the head of the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI) for the Eastern, Volta, and Oti regions, praised ‘Edem’ for his strong connection and contribution to the region. He said Edem had done a lot to promote the Volta Region and was loved by the people.
“He has shown great dedication and passion for the region, and has initiated many projects that have benefited the region,” he said.
This was later made public in a post on Volta Fairs official Facebook page congratulating the musician for his new role.
The Fair, which is organised by the AGI, the Volta Regional Coordinating Council (VRCC), and the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), will help to promote businesses in Ghana and beyond.
The Fair will also have various activities such as seminars, Sports Development Summit, Women and Youth Summit, and a Workshop on Horticulture.
Other highlights include the Regional Farmers Day, Kete Festival, Beer Festival, Miss Volta Fair 2023, a food court, and a musical concert.
Edem joins other notable personalities such as Mr Bernard Avle of Citi TV, Emefa Apawu and Mamavi Owusu-Aboabye of Multimedia Group, and Kafui Dey from the state Broadcaster.
Others are Seyram Amakpa-Azasu, the Technical Advisor for Diaspora Engagement at GIPC Ghana, and Ivy Prosper, the Social Media Manager of Beyond the Return Secretariat.
‘Edem,’ who is also known as Mr Denning Edem Hotor in showbiz, said he was happy to take up the role and invited his fans and followers to join the Fair, which will take place from November 26 to December 10, at the Ho Sports Stadium.
Mr Gadzanku said Edem was chosen as a Volta Brand Ambassador because of his love and commitment to the region. He asked him to use his global influence to attract more investments and opportunities to the region.
The theme of the event is “Leveraging the African Continental Free Trade for Economic Development.”
