Rice Wastage Crisis Hits Asutsuare Amid Low Patronage and Rising Costs

The Asutsuare community in the Osudoku area of the Greater Accra region is facing a crisis of rice wastage due to low patronage and rising costs, as highlighted in a recent online video by travel content creator Jonilar. 

Farmers are expressing concerns over the lack of demand for their harvest, which has led to overflowing warehouses in Area A, a crucial processing hub for Ghana's rice. The influx of imported foreign rice, coupled with high production costs, has exacerbated the situation. 

Local rice struggles to compete with the high demand for foreign varieties, while farmers grapple with the escalating expenses of inputs like fertilizer and labor. Despite efforts by the farmers, led by Osudoku TV's reporting, the issue persists with little progress being made.
